Aileen Napaljarri Long is celebrated for her abstract, modernist style, which is characterised by bold, bright linear mark-making. Landscapes and flora drawn from the mind’s eye, cultural knowledge and family converge with an exuberant confidence in Long’s paintings. After first exhibiting in 2023, Long’s practice has gained swift recognition and in both 2024 and 2025 she was named as a finalist in the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards presented by the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT).

Ada Pula Beasley’s practice sits at the nexus of impressionism and realism. In idiosyncratic hazy brushstrokes, she depicts the rolling sandhills of her country after rain, awash with bright greens, punctuated by yellow and purple flowers used in traditional bush medicine. In 2025 Beasley’s works were acquired by the University of Melbourne’s Medical History Museum, and the University of New South Wales’ Medical and Health School Art Collection because of her paintings’ important and poetic depictions of native bush medicine.
