Rachel Tai

Driven to abstraction

RED Gallery
Wednesday 12 AprilSunday 30 April

Tai is a Melbourne-based artist who develops compositions for her highly rendered oil paintings through a process of continuous image collection and collage. Interested in interrogating the spectrum between realism and abstraction, her dynamic compositions are characterised by a strong emphasis on colour and shape.

Tai’s work stems from an interest in understanding the boundaries of reinterpretation, reproduction and replication and the relationship these processes have with reality and authenticity.
